It's KY, popping in to say hi <3
Haha the 'who is KY??' ask was so funny. It's me, anon! Hello!! I wanted to drop in and share a little tidbit on what I think about KM's families, how they feel about their relationship/them being queer. I do think that their families are fully aware of their sexuality and them being together, it's impossible for them to not know after 6-7 years of dating.
I believe JM's parents might have already suspected that he was queer from when he expressed interest in modern dance. His parents supported him in his dream in becoming a singer when they wanted him to do law instead, which is quite rare for Korean parents of that generation. They seem like very open-minded people (thinking back to when JM said he wanted to have his dad try putting on makeup - you wouldn't say that if your dad was frigid and conservative). He has such a good relationship with his parents (thinking about the phone calls where JM tells his father 'I love you' which is...wow...I honestly don't know another Korean who tells their father 'I love you' like that) + DdeunDdeun show where he talked about how he rarely fights with his mother because they're so similar. I'm inclined to believe that they would love and support him no matter what.
JK's family seems just as supportive. Well, a known example is JK saying his mom cooked seaweed soup for him to celebrate JM's birthday! (I have my own suspicions that the Jeon and Park families were together, but that's unsubstantiated. Either way, if JK was at his own house with his own family and his mom prepared seaweed soup, that would be even weirder than them being together lol - I talked about this before.) Also, JK's brother and father dropped them off at the airport when they took their Tokyo trip. That's very telling. I think they already knew (and were supportive) that JM and JK were dating/seeing each other exclusively and seriously. And JK's mom adores JM! (Jimin-ah saranghae!) And which mom wouldn't love JM, honestly.
I think their families know each other well, like each other, and are supportive of their sons. Which is frankly adorable. I'm so happy that they were both blessed with such wonderful parents.
P.S. I wonder what JM did in London?
Till next time,
KY
Always good to see you my lovely. Welcome back 💜
I touched on Jikook with family here. Loved the Bam part so much. Dogs don't lie 😁😁
I too, think the story about the sea weed was embellished. I think Jikook were together when JK's mom made the soup. But guess we'll never know for sure.
Still don't make Jikook any less real! Thanks for dropping in KY. See u soon 😘
(Guys, remember to leave your questions in the comments)

1. Pretty sure Jimin said he wanna keep on performing so that doesn't change because he became 30
2. Jimin also said he'll be if he got chance to just sit on a chair and sing for fans when he's not able to perform anymore
3. If he's queer who wants kids.. realistically there's no other option except dumping Jk, marry a woman and have kids.
4. I thought everyone who's approaching 30 feels the same way. Joon had it, jm already started talking about it... so it's surprising to see Tae who's the exact same age being so unbothered about it and living his carefree life
🤷♀️🤷♀️🤷♀️🤷♀️
What has same age got to do with anything?
Yes Jimin has said all that- he's also said he's lonely in while surrounded by family and loved ones.
Vmin said they want to grow old together- yet here they are. Couldn't even do the buddy service together🥲
Jungkook has always wanted to be a singer- didn't stop him from trying to yeet himself from the group to pursue dance🥲
BTS knew they wanted to sing and dance and be part of the group- didn't stop them from considering disbanding even though music is what they all dream of making till the end.
Ever bought something you wanted so bad and felt a few seconds later you shouldn't have bought it? Even though you know it's something you've always wanted and something you'll probably always want?
Humans are complex multilayered beings with complex thoughts feelings and ideas.
Life, dreams, goals- our desire for them can be so fluid sometimes and Introspection is a common human phenomenon that accompanies these fluid moments of choice making.
Jimin is just being introspective at this point in his life is all we are saying.
There's nothing too complex about that that it should be confusing. A person can want something or someone and still express fears and doubts uncertainty and anxiety about that same thing.
It's right there in his songs when he sings about how it's begun, that he is in his prime time. I think it's out of such honest introspection that he's able to spit out those beautiful lyrics he pens. His past, his future, he's in the in between. Transitioning, becoming🤭
We act like the concept of 30 thirty is difficult phenomenon to comprehend when 30 is even the age limit for Korean men to serve. If you can't relate to turning 30 think of how idols have to put their careers on hold for 2 years how they have to shift their life goals and plans to factor in serving by 30.
Vmin are same age yes and OF COURSE they both have to worry about serving before 30. Every Korean Male worries about this at the barest minimum if not anything at all. I don't know why people can't seem to comprehend this.
Like you said, the hyungs went through a similar phase- unlike the hyungs, the maknaes don't get to sit with it. They have to do a lot of thinking at base and we can't tell them cheer up, we can't reassure them, we can't give them a unique perspective- we are on different sides of the wall.
Rather than construe the whole turning 30 phenomenon as some abstract Far fetched phenomenon- perhaps let's not. It's not that complicated 💀
These things are very natural and very common among us humans but especially for people who have a culture where turning 30 is a major rite of passage- Besides, late 20's and early 30's is when lots of people's brains fully mature biologically speaking- or so I hear so it makes sense why people would suddenly start being hyper introspective around that age.
To some it's a myth but to some they do very much enter this hyper introspective phase when they reach that point in their life. If you frame the discourse as one of introspection as you should then you'll find it as preposterous as I do the idea that Tae isn't introspecting about turning 30.
Unbothered????
Youve never heard him talk about how he doesn't look as handsome every now and then?
I recall him complaining about Covid and how it's stealing their youth and how frustrating that was for him. I recall him talking about children and how he would love to see each member's kid.
Of course he thinks about his life, marriage, kids, his career and even his changing facial features. Joon tries to shut him up when he talks about these things but he does. For someone who worries about these on a regular a particular age turn perhaps may not make much of a difference don't you think?
Tae can be very introspective as well. It may not be a seasonal thing for him like it seems to be for Jimin and others but rather more part of who he is.
He doesn't say much during his lives but he can be in his feels too- at the most random times too.
They are all human
Aside- do you know you give off "your colleagues are getting married what are you doing with your life" vibes?
It's giving Indian parents, Nigerian moms🤣
"You are the same age as that person why are you depressed when they're happy with their life" 💀
The concept of individuality seems lost on you

I've been following a K-Army who is an adamant antishipper, and she's got an interesting take on why JKK replaced TKK. Basically, JK and JM were huge idols in Korea, topping the popularity charts. Koreans are savvy about FS, seeing it more as a fun gesture for fans rather than a real-life romance. TH wasn't as popular back then and didn't fit traditional Korean beauty standards. Besides, at times he acted a bit odd. So, the company decided to boost JK and JM's popularity by pairing them up and promoting their "ship." On top of that, TKK started stirring up rumors, especially because of JK's jealousy over TH. Even though skinship and FS are common in K-Pop, TKK took it to another level, crossing even K-Pop standards. What are your thoughts on that?
Hi anon!
I’m relatively new to fandom, so I can’t really speak to members popularity back then and on how fandom perceived everything.
I do mostly agree though. I think BH recognized the commercial potential of pairing Jm and Jk up more. I don’t think it’s been in the way of ‘let’s make people believe they are in love’, but rather in the way of making Jkk content available and let people have their way with it.
Shipping is normal/common in Kpop and companies are well aware of that. BH was lucky to have seven guys that actually click really well. They don’t have to fake the bonds the members have in order to make fandom connect. They have several duos in BTS that provide strong(ish) ships.
I obviously think Tae and Jk took it to another level. It’s why I think BH doesn’t use them the way they use Jkk. I don’t think BH created Jkk to downplay Tkk. I think BH just does what companies do, they use what they can. Had Yoongi been a more cuddly person I think they could’ve also chosen Yoonmin as their main ship.. though perhaps Jm and Jk being the main singers is also a factor in this.

I love Hobi, God knows I do and he is enlisting soon. I get that. Me is ot7 anyday of the week. But here lies my issue;
FACE lasted on there 👇🏽 for all of 2 minutes
Then look how close their release dates are.
Members so far have gotten to promote their shit with no interruptions but Jimin has to share the limelight❓❓❓ For whatever reason. And people are gonna keep yapping about how he's the company's favorite? Ain't no such thing man, Fuck outta here!
I'm on pills and that's not even working
First off, I think two things can be true at once. Jm could be hybe's favorite idol and still get screwed up by hybe💀
Ain't nobody following the script like Park Jimin, ain't nobody fetching them coins and attention like Park Jimin. He's the korean IT Boy brand reputation king. Hybe's gotta love him and if they don't fuck them. They ain't shit anyways😌
This whole shmelly business has me between rocky and palm face won't lie. And any comment I make on this will fetch me some heat but here goes nothing. On one hand I love me some healthy idol competition up in BAngtan to see who outsells who and who out performs who- makes for quality entertainment if you ask me.
but on the other hand, I just hate blatant injustices and this right here is the mother of all injustices. It's just atrocious and wrong. It's not really a fair competition if some have more resources, more exposure and more corporate support now is it?
What is good for the goose is good for the gander and I'm just not seeing the fair equitable distribution of company resources on this one. Hybe needs to wash their ass with soap. It stinks from all the shitting they be shitting out here.
It's one thing if they are doing it on purpose but if all this is just one big coincidence as a result of their lack of thoughtfulness and awareness in handing these boys' marketing then I'm sorry someone needs to get skinned up in there. Yea I said it. Off with their heads.
Knowing hybe it's either they think JM has enough organic traction to sell on his own- matter fact, when it comes to the maknae line vs the hyung line this is very often the approach but we don't talk about that💀
I remember they did the same thing around the time of covid right before BTS announced they were going solo. I remember ranting about how they were deliberately sabotaging BTS to promote the other brands under hybe.
It's not uncommon for hybe to use the influence, reach and relevance of one brand to cross promote another. Yall recieved the weird notifications from certain brands on Weverse?
Whe it comes to the hyung line, the company goes a little bit hard and extra each time and they often do this with the members they think are least likely to perform in terms of numbers.
However, this time around, I think it has something to do with the enrollment list? Don't know, could be wrong. The thought that JM or Namjoon is next after Hobi makes me sick to the tummy and I hope I'm wrong 😭😭😭
I want to give them the benefit of the doubt and assume they going off of the enlistment list and need to do whatever they can for Hobi before he leaves.
Besides, I think If they were to treat the members equally and not equitably, I'm afraid some members wouldn't do as well- phpah pah paw. Gunshots😭😭
I know they think Jimin has the numbers, and he will do great in spite of these hurdles- but see, that's how we lose. THATS HOW WE FUCKING LOSE when everyone stops pushing cos they think this is an easy win!
I've seen Bangtan lose and come close to losing awards because of mentalities like this for me to sit quietly and watch it happen to Park Jimin. IT'S JUST NOT FAIR!
But then i also dont see him as competing against the hyung line you know? What are they competing for? Those two have totally different audiences and need unique market approaches and strategies to reach them💀
And I'm not just talking about reaching just army.
I would be concerned if they started using the same promotional strategy of a rapper for a singer.
If anything, I think JMs competition is the Maknae line and probably Jin too as he is also part of the vocal line. Therefore I feel I don't have a yardstick to measure him against yet as neither Jungkook nor Tae's album has been released- right?
But wait till it's JK or Taehyung's turn and let me see different treatment out here- I DARE THEM
If hybe thinks they are just going to gloss over things and sweep JMs album debut under the rags then they have another thing coming. They should plant their feet on solid grounds cos I'm about yanking the ground from underneath them.
They are going to leave everything on the shoulder of the fans and then swoop in last minute to claim they did shit for the BOYS when things turn out great.
They should show me the budget they have for each members' promotional package. Let's start there. Cos that determines how and where each member gets promoted.
On the flip side, having those two contents out around the same time reduces promotion costs as such content tend to cross promote eachother. Face will definitely drive traffic to Hobi's content as will Hobi's content to Face.
Personally I wished they would release vminkook albums consecutively within a short span of eachother. People listening to face will be more likely to click on Jk's song and Tae's right after. It keeps the fans engaged, keeps the momentum going and keeps all three trending on the charts making it hard for an outsider to break the chain.
They could have done same for the hyung line too.
All this seem to lack direction and each day my non existent faith in hybe wanes.
I hope the end would justify the means. Hopefully. I'm gonna sit tightly out here and watch it all play out to the credits and then I will comment on it😌
Hybe brought them this far, I should at least hope they know what the hell they are doing. But if Face pays the price for their edgy endeavors then I shouldn't be held responsible for the hex I put on them.
It's funny how you say Jimin is about to share the limelight when he's actually about to eat Hobi up😭😭
Gotta run 🏃♂️ 🏃♂️ 🏃♂️

So...the narrative that the ARMY tattoo stands for all the members - is that officially debunked now...? That has always been a jkk theory I was half convinced about but it seems it was right all along... Because if it did stand for all the members, I don't see any reason he wouldn't tell us - unless he forgot or missed it out somehow but that seems pretty unlikely
I mean, yes? Lol it wasn't a jikook theory that it DIDNT stand for all the members, it just was always a theory that was a stretch. The jikook theory was that the JM stood for Jimin. Which was also debunked. I just hope everyone here understands and appreciates JK sharing the meaning behind any of his tattoos with us because that's a privilege and he didn't have to do that and I'm so appreciative of him. His body art is so stunning.
youtube
Here is the full clip of him talking about his tattoos during his live stream. He shared about so many with us.
ARMY means ARMY and is for us
The Crown is over the A because we are so splendid to him he wanted to give us all a crown.
The J is for JK and he placed it opposite the crown to keep it more symmetrical on his hand
The Woozy face is just his favorite emoji lmao
The purple heart, ARMY logo and 0613 are self explanatory and for BTS + ARMYs
The 🤟 hand has the date he came to Seoul hidden inside it and was one of his most recent tattoos done.
He has 2 of his favorite quotes on his arm
His birth flower and "please love me" which is what his birth flower means
The clock with his birth time on it (3:23) which connects to a mic which means that he was born and destined to be a singer in life
He has clouds as a cover up because the original tattoo artist messed it up at first and then he got lightening bolts there too simply because there was already clouds
He used to have an eye on his arm, but he got it covered up because too many people hated it (imma fight all yall who said anything bad) and that it looked like the illuminati. But that he originally got it to basically say he is constantly being watched in every and all situations. But that because it was so disliked it covered it up with BTS "bulletproof" (We don't need to talk about the irony there... right? Sigh, yall need to leave this man alone)
He has a tattoo for HYYH era, some traditional Korean flowers and up on his shoulder, he has moon tattoos.
He got the trigrams from the S. Korean Flag because it means Sky/Heaven/Air because he loves to fly. But alot of people hated that too (grrrr) so he covered it up with the snake. He picked the snake as a cover up because it meant growth and it looked nice.
And of course his 7 which is his friendship tattoo with the members
He didn't explain all his tattoos, but it was sooooo nice of him to spent almost 10 minutes just talking with us about them. I love him! And all his body art.

"Ok now what if JK's solo album is filled with heavily gendered pronouns, directed to a woman ? You still gonna use 'but other closeted gay singers…' excuse?"
Did this dumb anon really write this and expect us to take them seriously when Jikook just went out in their matching head to toe B & W outfits on a korean couple day, together alone in NYC just the two of them, to celebrate and on the eve of JK's single release, when JK could have had his own partner there, instead? How many couple days does this make Jikook celebrating again? Another one added to the list. GASP, its almost like they are a couple who enjoy spending & celebrating couple days together. White Day, Silver Day, Valentines, Bdays. Even got momma JK making soup for JM's bday to feed to her family. JK posted a selfie of him and JM on Silver Day. JM posted a selfie of him and JK on White Day. JK did a White Day live with JM overseas, playing There For You, bringing up Tokyo and JM was in his comments, cause it was their first White Day away from each other, but they managed it, even if JK did tear up during his live. Now out together making a BIG statement before JK's single on Silver Day together, alone just them. Jikook and special occasions just go hand and hand. Funny, isn't it? Two platonic bros, who happen spend couple holidays together, when they can be with their partners or other people, but keep choosing each other to spend those days with. Interesting.
And for the record. JM's 'she's saying' & JK's 'her' vs Jikook celebrating significant korean couple holidays together. Thats the harsh reality and textbook definition of a closeted queer couple, if I've ever seen one.
Totally agree with you!!
People are blind to things they don't wanna believe, or are too homophobic.
Like you said, they have always chosen each other. Hell, the rest of BTS can't even mention one of them in a sentence without talking about the other. That is how connected they are.
They are a package deal.
People want them to out themselves to validate their selves. They don't understand the danger that puts the two of them in, especially Jimin.
Our poor little mochi is already hated by the cult and solo stans. If they ever came out, it would be so much worse.
I, for one, hope they stay closeted. It's not our business. I'm content and confident in their love and commitment to one another. I do not need their love validated.

Thanks for answering i agree with all what you said 😌😊
Also just in case you wanna listen to jikook subunit although we don't have any official song only these two together but if you want you can listen to the songs they covered "We don't talk anymore", then they have one song together with lauv named "Who" it's a beautiful song but sadly Fandom slept on it when it was released cause that's not the subunit they want lol but yep it's a beautiful song give it a try if you haven't listened to. There's a song called "Christmas day" which is like a cover of Justin Bieber's mistletoe but in chritsmas day jm wrote the part they sang in korean that's the first ever lyrics he ever wrote. It's actually from 2014, from 10 yrs ago.
Then they have dance covers they did together. You'll get it on YouTube if you search for a jikook dance cover or something. Dance covers are more. There's one with 3J it's a remix of 3 songs together so can't name properly but you'll get it. It's a really amazing dance cover (It's probably from the dancer who jm and jk liked from back then and is jk's bg dancer for seven, snty etc as per his own request and the same dancer is choreographer for jm's serendipity this is TMI lol). Then there's 3J butter remix dance it's a short one but it's fab, was supposed to be hobi nd jk ig but jk asked for jm to join as well. Jimin and hobi are main dancers, hobi being dance leader as well. Jungkook is a lead dancer and hence jikook is the only main-lead duo in BTS cause jk is main vocalist(as the great singer he is) and jm lead vocalist. 3J used to be a dance line initially then after a few yrs their performance director added tae as well so he's in the dance line too.
I LOVE jimin as a performer and dancer(his voice is addictive to me as well) as someone who loves dance like he's my favourite performer and after him i love hobi's dance so i agree with what you said about lolla hobi really nailed it.
Seriously, how did that WHO feature with Lauv not get any attention?!?! I swear I had no idea it even existed until months after I had already become a BTS fan and it randomly played on spotify when I was using the spotify ai dj feature. I was like this person singing right now oddly sounds like Jimin, and I was shocked when I looked and it was lol. Seeing how Jungkook and Jimin have been dominating the charts with their solo releases, I'm legitimately shocked it wasn't everywhere. ☹️

My theory why Taekook are weird with jimin;
They don’t understand his popularity and therefore and threatened by it.
They both think they are better looking that jimin and thus should be way more popular than him. Like as we discussed, jungkook thinks jimin is ugly. So all the media obsession with jimin’s visuals, the artists who call him their muse, the girls and gays dying over him, the interviewers who become obsessed with him - probably confuses and unsettles the hell out of him. He knows taehyung is handsome so he’s not confused by taehyung’s popularity.
Jungkook and taehyung think they are more talented than him. And maybe jk is a better singer and taehyung is better at making faces, but overall jimin has the most captivating presence and out performs them but they don’t understand and that’s why they are so confused that the audience looses their shit for jimin.
Jimin isn’t as confident as them. But they don’t understand that so many people love that humility about jimin. They love his personality. But since they are dumb toxic Korean men they don’t get that.
So because they can’t understand why jimin is popular they are super threatened by it. It confuses them because they believe they deserve their popularity and jimin almost rivaling them doesn’t make sense to their smooth ass brains!
Yeah. This is why everyone who hates Jimin hates him, ultimately. Because he was never meant to succeed. He was set up for failure, from day one. He was given impossible ultimatum after impossible ultimatum and did everything, lost the weight, got the abs, squeezed into bts at the last minute, and none of them ever truly accepted him, not realizing bts without jimin would be NOTHING. and I mean that.
It's the 'they only hate you because they're jealous' excuse, but for real this time.
People really hate to see a pretty, hardworking, humble, kind-hearted girl win, huh? Spent years praying on his downfall and the only thing that came out of it was him doing HOT GIRL SHIT (alcoholism and tax evasion) and the 'he cant sing' excuse. Well neither can Th or Jin but you don't see them beating themselves up about it. Ever. Just big-headed and self-aggrandizing. Jin and Nj can't dance either yet you don't see anyone telling them to leave the group over it, because being 'all-rounded' has never been crucial for an idol. yet even though Jimin's dancing trumps everyone in the industry (except like 5 people) by MILES, his singing being mediocre is the thing everyone latches on. interesting.
but most of the media play doesn't focus on his singing, anyway. because the rest of bts would go down with him. no, everyone has always focused on his dancing and stage presence, his humility and altruism, his captivating aura. he's not 'almost' rivaling taekook in popularity, he is ALWAYS higher than them on the monthly brand rankings, and that number is always in the top 3. ALWAYS. he is always the one turning heads, making headlines, having people asking 'who's the cunty one?' when they came to america. so WHY was he boggled by insecurity for years? maybe it's time to realize the call is coming from INSIDE the house and all of bts were always the most jealous and spiteful of him and trying to set him up despite him being nothing but gracious and selfless to them all. I get that it's a popular cope that they all dote on him and love him, but the truth is, as evidenced by literally a decade of content, that Jm has always given out all of himself and gotten less than a pittance in return.
rapline at least kind of get hard work. they still hate him, but they're always the ones commenting on how much he practices. but the rest are so lazy and reliant on what they were born with (face for taejin and half decent vocals for jungkook) that their tiny little pea brains cannot BEGIN to comprehend that Jimin's dedication shines through in everything he does, and everyone sees it and falls in love with him instantly. while the rest of bts is left in the dust, bitter and washed up

Haha. Anon from the last 4 part ask here.
Black swan and ON are incomparable and Jimin owned both of those. All versions of the performances. But I also love IDOL. His roundhouse kicks are the best. And he is the only one who completes them. Everyone else drops it somewhat. My Jimin is an ace performer. He lives for this shit.
BTS and the quality of their music. Well. I personally think that they were tired. Dynamite and PTD and Butter were written for the non Korean audience and while these are good pop songs, they aren’t BTS. You cannot compare this to Dionysus, for example. The imagery, metaphorical style of writing and their don’t give two f**ks style was not in the Dynamite and PTD era. The only song I saw which has that in the recent past was RUN BTS.
Busan concert - I agree with you. But there were parts that BTS, collectively (except perhaps Hobi and some parts Yoongi) did not sound good. Again, I think they were tired. Of dealing with a whole lot of shit. So they didn’t give it their absolute all. I don’t blame them but I think it wasn’t up to their own standard. Also, bloggers are crucifying Jimin and Jungkook as being the worst performers during the Busan concert is just Jikook antis or JM antis and frankly I think that people need to look themselves hard in the mirror for being this way.
Hey! Welcome back ☺️ yes love IDOL and will probably never get over the performance they did of it for Jimmy Fallon in front of that building lit up behind them in the decked out modern hanbok. It was so damn cool!! In terms of choreo, that one for me is in the same realm as Dionysus choreo, in that I get that it matches the song, but it’s such an intense, aerobic style that it kind of ceases to be dancing at certain points and turns into like Insanity the workout 😂 I don’t mind it, but it’s definitely not as fluid and interesting as DNA, even Fire, and the others we mentioned.
Yeah I sort of wasn’t even including Dynamite, Butter and PTD, simply because they didn’t write those. So I don’t think that reflects on their quality of writing. I think Born Singer and Run BTS both have some very classic BTS vibes too. So idk, they haven’t released enough new stuff since MOTS7 for me to judge and say whether they’ve gone downhill, you know? And the solo stuff they have released has been quite good, to me. [edit after the fact - I was reminded by an anon that I completely ignored BE and they were right, I fully forgot about that album at the time I wrote this. I am ashamed. I love that album. So no, I don’t think their writing has gone downhill. I think there are ebbs and flows and different strokes for different folks and that I’m a jerk for forgetting about an album I really like]
Oh and YES!! I meant to say that Hobi and Suga both murdered that show, particularly Hobi. He was looking cool as hell up there and sounded great. He’s so talented.
Thanks for sharing your faves 😊 I’m new to doing asks, and I realized quickly how much I don’t enjoy the one-sided nature of it. I feel like I’m talking at everyone, and I’d much rather us share with each other than me just field questions like I’m on a talk show. Lol. So thanks for taking the time to reply 🫶

My thoughts on Jimin's Letter
NOTE: Skip to the bold at the end if you don't want to read my build up to the final thoughts. The entire piece works together as a complete thought but sometimes time is of the essence. Enjoy!
What about this Letter?
During a November 2016 VLive with the group, questions were selected by each member to answer. Jimin (JM) was asked what Christmas gift he would like to give to someone he loved one day. His answer was he would like to make a song and sing it to that person. I have seen the cute video of this event, and I recommend viewing it if you can find it. Considering Jimin has been revealed to be someone who prides himself on fulfilling promises he has made, it seemed likely he would one day fulfill this desire.
Fast forward to 2023, Jimin releases his first solo album (FACE) with a hidden track that he wrote, produced, and performed. The hidden song, Letter, is a very sweet, emotional song that expresses his appreciation for the person(s) and their support. He expressed his hope for them to remain together and allow him time to return the support and keep promises he has made. However, Jimin did not perform the song alone. In spite of there being no other collaborating singers on the album and JM explaining that this first album was about him and was his own story, Jung Kook (JK) was heard and credited with singing background vocals, especially on the later part of this hidden track.
Throughout Jimin’s promotional period and continuing still, JK has quietly supported and celebrated Jimin and his album in his own way. He kept going on Live before something regarding Jimin’s next event or reveal was going to happen and would do something that referenced JMs work without explanation. The audience would be unaware of the connection until viewing Jimin’s actions. For example, the night that JMs pre-released song debuted, JK got off the Live right before the time of release and told his viewers to look out for something “amazing” at midnight. JM's Set Me Free, Part2 song and video were dropped at midnight and proved JK right by being amazing. During the Live, JK also used a pipe cleaner creation to reference a butterfly that JM ended up singing about in this pre-released song. Also, the day before Jimin’s full album release, JK surprisingly played a guitar at the end of his middle-of-the-night WeLive. In the coming days, those who had the physical album discovered a hidden track at the end of the song Like Crazy (English) @ 06:13 (BTS Time!) after a silence. The very faint, almost invisible print in the CD packet credited JK for the background vocals in the hidden song. The sweet and beautiful song ends with the similar guitar riff JK played during his Live. There were several more in-advance revelations, some of which we still may have missed. Since JK did not explain, I’m not sure it helped with sales, but was definitely a nod to his feelings about the project and the artist. It was definitely a signal to Jimin that he was acknowledging and celebrating his work.
In sincerity or for plausible deniability, the song is written so it can be interpreted as for BTS members, BTS fans, AS WELL AS A LOVED ONE singularly. The lyrics speak for themselves. Interestingly, included with the CD, were photos of JMs handwritten lyrics that confirm that at least part of the song was intended for some individual who JM loves. Korean speakers have explained that during the song, the language changes from a form directed toward a larger audience to a more personal form of speech that was intended for a singular person. This shift occurs toward the end of the song when JK more clearly sings, starting at “Baby”. From the photos of the written notes, we can see that an intimate title (Dangsin) was intended to be used but was omitted from the recording.
Moreover, before the album’s release, Jimin had recorded an episode of Suchwita with Suga. JM mentioned the song during the interview, and I noticed that JM did not meet Suga’s eyes while answering about the song. One minor thing I noticed is that Jimin described the song, according to the translation I saw, as a fan song (NOT a song for fanS). As I’ve said, it could be written for all of the suggested audiences as well. More on that in a moment. Once the interview had been released during Jimin’s promotions, JK did a Live, watching several of JMs album videos as well as the interview. The next day while JM was doing a quick Live in a car while leaving an award show filming, JK popped on to have an exchange in the chat. Jimin told JK that he saw that JK had been watching his videos & “headbanging” while enjoying them. JK replied, “[You know] I’m your fan.” Korean translators have said the you know” was expressed in the form of language JK used.
I personally do think the song was released to be partially a letter to BTS bandmates and fans as well as a letter to a singular loved one. (More on that at the end)
Other than what has been written above, Jimin did not speak much further about the song. Then to our surprise, during the 2023 Festa celebration, we were all gifted with a live performance video of Jimin singing Letter, which has now been renamed publicly as Dear.Army - NOT Dear Army, but Dear DOT Army. To me that means the letter is to his dear (Loved One) and to his Army (BTS fans). The song is registered with the Korean songwriting organization with the dot, when none of his other credits are written that way. Usually he registers the song with the same exact name it was published as originally. No other song has a dot included in the registered name when I last checked.
Anyway, the performance was a beautiful stripped down, acoustic version of the song. All other instrumentation (i.e. harmonica, waves) were removed, the only things left to play alongside Jimin’s beautiful voice were the guitar and JKs background singing. Again, starting at “Baby”, JKs vocals could be… BARELY heard. What? Anyway, they were still there, but the company (?) had turned down JKs vocals so low it was almost like a whisper, echoing and responding to Jimin’s words. I was disappointed but with all things considered, I’m really glad JKs voice was still there at all. Jimin even paused intentionally in a place he does not do on the album in a way that appeared to be sure JKs voice was heard. I can’t figure out if JM is aware of these ploys, agrees to them, does not have choice in them, or is duped and finds out later. Either way it was still a beautiful gift during Festa on BTS's 10th anniversary. Did Jimin pull out that promise list and check off "making and (publicly) singing that song to the person he loved"? (Ok, so it’s an early Christmas gift. 🙂)
I do have a few final questions and a final thought about Letter that I have not heard or seen anyone mention yet. Please consider these.
MY QUESTIONS: * If the song Letter is for Armys, why is it hidden? *While I understand that this song did not fit into the theme of the album, on Suchwita, JM said it likely won’t even be released to streaming platforms. All Army can afford to buy CD packets? *If for Army, why has he been so reluctant to talk about the song once it was discovered? *He is a social media user, wouldn’t he likely have been aware that YouTubers would create unapproved videos about and for the song and lyrics once discovered? (He did acknowledge during an album-listening Live that he, in fact, saw those unapproved videos about the song. He playfully wagged his finger at the guilty parties.) *Finally, even if he was saving it for a surprise Festa performance, couldn’t he still have raved about the song and told Armys to be sure they saw and heard this song that was intended for them? The performance still would have been a surprise and beautiful and touching. None of this is adding up for me.
MY THOUGHT: From Jimin’s own explanation, his earlier song to Army, Promise, was actually written about and to himself and then became a song & gift for Army with RMs help in translation and suggestion. Why is it impossible to believe the same could be true for Letter? Couldn't it have been written and intended for another purpose but became a combination gift for Army as well? It is also possible that it was originally created with all recipients in mind. Aren’t both ideas possible? Jimin’s the only one who can clear any of this up for sure but… Good luck with that. 😁

Is it only me who feels like JKs singing has worsened. No, not hating just I felt so
His voice was one of my favorite. In live versions, he was infamous for singing exactly like in studio version. We have heard him singing acapellas etc very well. But in the last online concert that was not the situation. His original singing voice and the tone of singing and his stability was very much affected.
Then I thought ok Mayne he have some cold or something. But them again yesterday also it happened. Don't know if its coz he was tensed. But his singing was not the same good level. It was breathy and shaky. In both MU and Butter. Especially in MU , after Chris Martin singing JKs out of tone singing was not pleasant to hear.
I've heard him n JM saying he sings 8-10 hrs a day. He have said he wanted to find a conformable voice, in that korean variety they went on early 2021. But then his singing has worsened. I wish he take of his voice and improve it again.
Oh LORD y'all are just out here to hurt my heart today aren't you? Actually Jungkook has very close to perfect pitch. I'm often struck by how, in random VLives (i.e., his birthday) and behind videos (i.e., at the AMAs in the lot with Chris Martin) he is perfectly in tune. His voice is one of the most stable in the industry. Was he nervous at the AMAs? Yes. Wouldn't you be? Nerves account for a lot of vibrato and breath control issues that wouldn't normally be heard. So does exertion and while Koo is an incredibly stable vocalist - holding his tone and key while in aerobic-level motion - he isn't immune to those small vocal changes. You try jumping up and down twenty times and running across a hall WHILE SINGING and tell me how your voice sounds. Maybe record it. Just to give yourself a reality check. Koo actually trains his voice by singing while running for a reason. If you can do better by all means send in that Hybe audition tape. Were there serious sound quality issues, such that the boys were singing in an echo chamber, at the AMAs? Also yes. Namjoon and the others commented on it in their Live after the show, and many of us at home heard the problems with the sound. I don't feel like we can blame Jungkook personally for tech issues that mask or magnify effects and acoustics. Or for room temperature, humidity, vocal cord fatigue... I mean our boy was out there in the LA night drunk AF singing his cords off within a day of that performance. It does have effects. OMG JUST LET PEOPLE LIVE DAMN. Most artists do not have perfect pitch - many have perfect ears, they can hear even slight variations - and good or trained singers can learn to emulate the exact tone they're hearing. But perfect pitch is quite rare. Have you ever heard Ed Sheeran sing live? OMG y'all I love him but he is not it for being in tune on stage. Camila Cabello's pretty good. Ariana Grande is really good - she's very close to perfect. Gaga is in tune 99% of the time. I'd give Jeon Jungkook a 95-98 personally. And for what it's worth I believe he has a perfect ear so if he's off he can damn well hear it himself, he does not need you running your piehole to tell him. As far as vocalists go, honey, I doubt very seriously you're even in the same city as Jungkookie. His own members aren't except Jimin sometimes, all the guys are pitchy occasionally BECAUSE IT'S NORMAL AND THEY ARE HUMAN AND ALSO DANCING YOU OVERCRITICAL HOSEBAG. Don't come out here just to voice shame my baby Koo. You'll get the same backhand I reserve for Jimin antis who talk about he can't sing with zero knowledge of a whistle register or chest/head transition points. Fuck off with that nonsense. Take it back to the hater's lounge where they have ageism, racism, homophobia and now armchair vocal coaches. Boo. You're mean. Go away. Stan someone else, I hear SZA needs new fans these days. The Golden Maknae is terribly upset by your attitude while he picks up a few new awards and some endorsements and a few billion extra won ARMY and the company left lying around.
#all the way off#seriously how rude are you#no wonder anons be anoning even they can’t say this shit under a name#don't you listen to her baby and i would put money down it's a her and she has a whole agenda that has nothing to do with your voice#anon#ask#this is a new flavor of things people gonna be mad at#do you like make a living as a professional singer because if so we are gonna need receipts#don't suppose you were out in youtube with your faked asthma doing trash BTS covers out of tune#or maybe she's just a friend of yours

hello! first off i love your blog so thank you for all your amazing content! second, i was wondering if you (maybe with the help of your followers in case it's too much work) would mind listing the nicknames for all the s4 members that they all came up with for each other over the course of the episodes - sometimes i dont understand what they mean in english since i'm still new to korean. like i know 'yeol jeong hoon' comes from 'yeol jeong' which means 'passion' or 'enthusiasm' but like? what about 'koravi'? the subtitles don't even translate this. sorry if this is a bother, thank you anyways for all your hard work! and have a nice day ~
good question! thank u for this ask and here’s a non-exhaustive list:

Am I the only one who gets uncomfortable whenever I see these teenage girls thirsting over either JK or JM?????
I get it, it's their job, the company likes to make idols "hot", so they can sell more stuff.
But sometimes I wonder if they see these comments and fell like their attraction is not valid just because it isn't "traditional" in the Korean eyes.
And those girl's attraction is valid just because it's "traditional"
I personally don't like to go around saying "JK is so hot" "Jimin is so fcking beautiful and hot", cause if they are really together (which at this point we shouldn't even be questioning), could they be uncomfortable while reading these comments?
Just saying...
Look, it's a bit complex anon.
Part of their job is to be mouthwatering gorgeous for the teenage girls, so those girls thirsting over them, well it's not unexpected, is it?
Being gay doesn't mean you can't be outright sexy and attractive for the other gender, even if you yourself are not attracted to them.
Why not say they are, in your words, "hot"? Or good looking or gorgeous or sexy? Why not appreciate their good looks? It doesn't mean you want to jump their bones. What is the difference between calling them that, even if they are gay and in a relationship with each other, than calling any other idol, actor, singer or star good looking, when they are themselves also involved in a relationship?
Example:
Gal Gadot. Outright gorgeous, sexy, hot. She is a heterosexual woman married with children.
Would it be wrong for me, another woman, to call her hot? Would it be wrong for anyone to call her hot? It would be even worse, no, her being a mother...
Chris Hemsworth. Gorgeous, sexy, hot. Heterosexual married with children man.
Would it be wrong for another man or anyone else to call him hot?
Ricky Martin. Hot gay man in a relationship (as far as I am aware of). Is it wrong for a woman to call him hot?
I think you get the gist of it anon.
To me it's same same. Either or. Doesn't make a difference. And I don't think it makes a difference to them either. They know who they are and what they want. They know this is something that comes with the territory of being an idol.
The screaming teenage girls, that's their bread and butter.
It does become uncomfortable though, I would think, when they sit during those interviews and keep being asked about girlfriends and hookups (that Ellen interview was a disgrace).

it's annoying how these "ot7 jimin stans" complain about jm's lack of lines considering we can at least *tell* it's his, and saw him do bg harmony too in the docu. meanwhile jin's one line literally had me going "is that jin?? is it??? jin??????"
It is annoying. I also didn’t even know it was Jin’s voice until a friend pointed it out. It’s one of my favorite lines and at first I thought it was Chris Martin who sang it. Jin has such a beautiful, smooth, rich, and stable voice. I hope we get to hear more of it in BTS’s future releases.
There’s fake ot7s scattered all throughout the fandom (for every member at that). The only thing is jimin stans happen to be the loudest and most shameless ones (that goes for both his international and Korean fans). And you can’t even call them out on their bs otherwise they’ll swarm you like the maggots they are. I heard they’re even boycotting My Universe because jimin didn’t get any solo lines. Disgusting behavior is all they know.
Earlier today I saw a post here on tumblr about how “there must be something going on at hybe, since jimin went from having the most lines to having no lines” and I thought they were joking (they weren’t). I honestly can’t believe there are people in this world who enjoy hearing him sing. If you didn’t already know, BTS’s main producer pdogg LOVES high notes. That’s why he makes the entire group strain their voices to reach those ungodly levels of screech, while simultaneously blasting the entire song with autotune because it sounds terrible to begin with. I sound like a broken record. I’ve already said this in another post (or two) but I’m too lazy to link it. My point is a good producer would want to highlight the voices and color of every singer on the song, rather than artificial altering their voices to suit “his” tastes.
In the My Universe documentary, my Korean friend pointed out that tone of voice Pdogg used to compliment Jin was rude, and his compliment came off as backhanded. I think Jin stans even trended something on Twitter about wanting Pdogg to leave (someone double check for me). But yea, Jin stans have had beef with him for the longest now because he’s known for constantly putting Jin down. There was also a similar issue brought up about Taehyung. It’s a mess. I honestly hope Pdogg stays far far away as the main producer from their songs from here on out. He’s skills are outdated. I still have nightmares about Butter’s Hotter Cooler Sweeter remixes (as if the original wasn’t bad enough).
Jimin stans think he’s God’s gift to the group when in reality he’s the member who contributes the least. If we’re talking popularity he’s not even the most popular member of Maknae line. Taehyung has the visuals and Jungkook has the voice. Jimin comes nowhere close to either of them. Jimin fans cry about him not having his own studio when in reality he has the least copyright credits in the group. What’s he going to do with a studio? Is he even interested in making music? Probably not. Because how do you spend 8+ years with some of the most talented members in all of kpop and fail to pick up a thing or two? Taheyung doesn’t even have his own studio and he’s way more active than Jimin when it comes to creating music.
Jimin stans want him to leave the group and go solo, someone should let them know that’s what the rest of us non-fans want as well. It’s a win-win for everyone :)
More on Jimin’s lack of lines in My Universe.
